Big Changes Continued

Hey, I start my first day at the school tomorrow. I start my first day at my new job Wednesday.

Boy, these days things are coming fast. The interesting thing is that I see it being as much a part of my age as I see it being the changes .

My children are excited.

My wife on the other hand has mixed feelings. She is excited at the prospect of me being there for her more, but she is nervous about the new form of income.

Me, I'm past nervous and very excited.

I'll try to keep posting about how things are going with this endeavour.

Big Changes

Well, My family and I will be getting to spend a lot more time together. I'm taking a job that will allow me to volunteer teach at my children's school. They go to a Christian school.

I was not interested in this job when I was first approached about taking it. But when I found out the hours, I decided that I should step out on faith and do it because of the time it provided. It is commission sales. I will be relying more on the Lords goodness of being payed on a commission basis.

The best thing is that I will be teaching my boys and helping keep an eye on things in general, which will help my girls.

I would like to write more about this and may later. My wife just came up so I will stop for now.

Christians Let God Run Their Lives

Well, I would like to start by saying that as a Christian I find it odd that everyone I run into in this area say that they are Christian as well. Yet, they live as they please. I believe that comes from a basic misunderstanding of what it means to be a Christian or to quote “know Christ”. So to get this off my chest I have chosen to write a little about the issue and post it on my blogs.

To start, we need to know more specifically what we are saved from when we become a Christian. People hear us say that you need to be saved from your sins. What does that mean? I believe that is the question most would ask. The truth is that we need saving from ourselves. We sin because our nature is sinful, Not the other way around. So to define sin; it is to miss a defined goal, mission or target. We chose to be sinful because we want to run our own lives. That is to say we want to be our own god, innately. The only person who has the right to be the sole authority in his life is the person who knows all things, sees all things, and can do anything. I mean he even has to transcend time.

Here is the dilemma, we are limited. We can’t possibly set the rules and morals for our own lives because of these limits. None of us are limitless in any area. So we will miss things. This causes us to be wholly in adequate to make decisions without guidelines from the person who does meet these requirements. We must follow the one who can see the course of our lives.

Where we all go wrong is assuming we can be the captain of our own ship. We will be hopelessly lost without a guide. God created us. He is the perfect “Captain”. He has the attributes required to do a good job.

Saying all this, we still find ourselves wanting to be the one in charge. We want to run our own personal universe. That is the sin that we must be saved from. God set the direction for our lives and we walk away thinking that we know more than the One who knows all. It started with Adam and Eve and was handed down through Adam to all of us. We aren’t capable of running a universe, personal or otherwise. To do so, if I may be so bold as to reiterate, requires all knowing, all seeing, and all power. Any time that we choose to walk away from the guidance of The Maker, we sin, and sin against Him.

As the Creator of all, he has the right to run everything. He gave us the choice to follow so that it would be an open relationship. This is the only relationship in which anyone can have a truly loving relationship. That is the reason that we were even given the capability of choosing.

All actions have consequences. Sin separates us from God. See if you don’t want Him to be God you don’t want to relate to Him as He is, so you must be separated from. But if you want Him to be what He is in your life, then He has made a way for the consequence of being sinful to be paid without you being separated from him. Christ handled the payment.

Now, this leaves us where we started. If sinning is missing the mark, and the mark is living with God as the one running our lives, then we must turn from being the ones to determine what is right and wrong and start following God and his guidelines. Christ paid the way so that we could go back to living his way and accepting his right to tell us what to do. That is what it means for him to be Lord. He can run our lives in any way that he sees fit. That even includes the times when you think he is about to destroy it. He has that right but won’t. You must trust that you didn’t need things the way it was or the Lord wouldn’t take things apart. He will put it back together in a better way.

All this to say that if you say you’re a Christian and God isn’t Lord, He isn’t telling you how to live, he isn’t the one you will listen to over anyone, then you need to examine whether or not you just wanted some fire insurance. You just want to go to heaven. After all, heaven is heaven goes everything is run by God. If you don’t want him to run your life here than I don’t understand why you want to go to a place where that is exactly what you’ll have.

Volunteering At My Kids School

Well, here I am again.

I spoke to the principle at my children's school and told him of my desire to work at the school this year. I told him that I would like to help some as a math tutor and possibly be the PE coach. He was very encouraged and encouraging over the matter. He told me that he will definitely pray along with me about this prospect.

You may be wondering why an individual would want to leave his career and volunteer at a school that has no money to pay him. Of course this means that I have to figure a way to make an income in a way that will not be very time consuming and allow me the kind of time it takes to spend all day, five days a week teaching. Basically I would like to recapture a benefit that men had when we were more agrarian. Fathers spent their days with their families doing the work that was required and being apart of the education of their children. Industrialization did give us many things but it also took fathers away from their families and I think to the detriment of all.

Needless to say, I believe that the Lord is asking me to sacrifice what the world would say is the best for his best. Which in this situation could be the desire of my heart.

Of course with all people I am prone to try my own devices to achieve the will of God. I come to see the EBay ad was one of my devices.

What I have other than my present employment may be His choice for our income. My wife sells Avon and I have Google AdSense on these blogs. Avon is self-explanatory. But some people may not realize that I make money just from someone clicking on the Google Ads that are on my page. No purchase necessary. Now that doesn't mean that you won't want to purchase something when you get to the site that the ad links you to.

Basically, I would be thankful if the few of you who have found my blog would click when your there and pass on my web address to other interested individuals.

Well, that's all for now.

Homebased Business

You know, I have been wanting to have the privilege of volunteering at my kids school.

I've been praying about a home-based business that would provide the income. I've been doing these blogs and inserting Adsense modules in them. Considering that the ads can make money with the right kind of traffic, I 've decided to pray about getting the traffic that I need for the Adsense to provide that money. I wouldn't be the first to have my blogs to produce substantial income.

Lord, this is what I pray. Send a large level of traffic to my blogs and have them be interested in the ads enough to click on them.

Prayer for My Sister in Law

Two in as many days. I guess I'm setting a personal record on this blog.

Well, my sister in law is going through a rough patch. She's a single mother in need of a lot of prayer right now. She and my mother in law had been living together, but due to some issues that make mother in law unbearable to her daughters at times, they've parted company. The issues are legitimate reasons, not my sister in law being unreasonable.

Due to this she isn't going to be able to afford her present housing. My wife asked me to pray about us moving and renting our present home to her. We could rent it to her for $200 less than her present situation and she would have reduced utilities. The electric bill would be the same but we have a well and no gas, so it would eliminate about another $300 from her budget.

Needless to say I'm praying about it and need God's answer.

What is interesting is that the issue in the previous post is even more important now because that is the only way that I can even afford to do this for my wife's sister.

Lord, you know my heart. Please help and guide us. Give us our petition, please.

Praying for Change, Stepping Out

Well, I guess I should get online a little more and post.
Anyway, I figured it was time to post something and had a pretty good idea on what subject in my family’s life would be good now. My wife and I have been praying about the possibility of me finding a home-based business that would allow me to make a better income and have the time to volunteer at my kids’ school with her this year.

My kids go to a small private Christian school. Before you think that I must make a killing, my wife’s volunteering is covering the cost of sending them there. In the past before fuel went up we paid some tuition, but were blessed to have a good portion of the tuition covered in other manners.

For this reason I’ve made a move that some would call rash or even stupid. I’ve listed on eBay a chance to share in my life by purchasing a share. Now this isn’t a business thing it just my way of asking for those who are the philanthropist among us to consider me as a worthy individual to give to so that I may do a better job being a parent instead of being stuck working in such a way that I have little to no contact with my wife and children.

Some of you will probably see this as a shameless plea for a handout. So be it, I will accept that knowing that God will expect us to lay down our pride to receive a blessing. If I’m out of line I will be reproved by him.

So to the listing, it is on eBay under the title “Shares of my life”. The shares will be offered at $2.00 per share and anyone may purchase as few or as many as they would like.

The Latest

Well, I have to say that I was very glad to hear the latest from my doctor. Of course it may be a little hard for you to follow since most haven't heard the whole story.

I'm 38 as my profile says.

Well, soon to be 39; Saturday in fact.

On to what I was saying..

I have a conditions called, by doctors, hypogonadism. It is also known as Andropause, men's menopause if you will. It's called andropause when it happens at the expected rate. It's hypogonadism if it happens to fast.

If what happens too soon, you ask. Well, A man will start to taper off on testosterone production starting at about 30. If it happens at a very gradual rate, it is called andropause. If, like me, you loose it to quickly you have hypogonadism.

If you want more info google both terms and you will get all you need. Suffice it to say, a man will experience a lot of things he doesn't want to because of this condition. Some of which can be life threatening if his condition is bad enough.

On to my good news, I have been on testosterone replacement therapy for one year. I've lost 24 pounds in that time, down from 299 to 275.

I'm 5'9" and very heavy boned so I do carry the weight without looking too much like a basketball.

Anyway, I have increased my muscle mass considerably and have greater definition and strength.

Oh and I feel great. I have more energy and stamina, which is important considering I'm an auto tech.

The great thing is that I apparently have more of the same to look forward to.

If you are a man around 40 or later, you need to get tested. Today it is a lot more common for men to be dealing with this because of a lot of reasons.

Hello

Well, just to get started, I'll be posting highlights of my families life on here as I remember to. I would like to say daily but time and interenet contraints will get in the way. Later
