Well, I have to say that I was very glad to hear the latest from my doctor. Of course it may be a little hard for you to follow since most haven't heard the whole story.
I'm 38 as my profile says.
Well, soon to be 39; Saturday in fact.
On to what I was saying..
I have a conditions called, by doctors, hypogonadism. It is also known as Andropause, men's menopause if you will. It's called andropause when it happens at the expected rate. It's hypogonadism if it happens to fast.
If what happens too soon, you ask. Well, A man will start to taper off on testosterone production starting at about 30. If it happens at a very gradual rate, it is called andropause. If, like me, you loose it to quickly you have hypogonadism.
If you want more info google both terms and you will get all you need. Suffice it to say, a man will experience a lot of things he doesn't want to because of this condition. Some of which can be life threatening if his condition is bad enough.
On to my good news, I have been on testosterone replacement therapy for one year. I've lost 24 pounds in that time, down from 299 to 275.
I'm 5'9" and very heavy boned so I do carry the weight without looking too much like a basketball.
Anyway, I have increased my muscle mass considerably and have greater definition and strength.
Oh and I feel great. I have more energy and stamina, which is important considering I'm an auto tech.
The great thing is that I apparently have more of the same to look forward to.
If you are a man around 40 or later, you need to get tested. Today it is a lot more common for men to be dealing with this because of a lot of reasons.
